I HAD more chance of swimming the Nile than getting my ex-wife to go abroad. So when we split I decided embracing the silver lining of the storm clouds in my life and escaping to an exotic country was the best thing to do.

KOTA BARU: The controversy over the video clip by rapper Wee Meng Che should teach people to exercise restraint when commenting on racially-sensitive issues, said Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin.
Bernama quoted Khairy as saying that Wee, better known as Namewee, had gone overboard this time and had hurt the feelings of Malays.
He said Wee had not learnt his lesson from controversies he had created.
“We forgave him and we thought that he had changed when he returned to Malaysia.
“We tolerated a lot of things but when the insult gets too blatant, it’s time to take action against him,” he said after visiting Kota Baru Umno Youth chief Rosmadi Ismail here on Tuesday.
Police recorded Wee’s statement on Tuesday to facilitate investigations into the video clip that allegedly contained a racial slur.
Wee created a controversy in 2007 with his national anthem rap while studying in Taiwan.
Khairy said Wee had done what was unacceptable in a multiracial society.
“If there are racist statements from anyone, police and the prosecutor should act swiftly to prevent a recurrence.”
He refuted claims that Malays were too sensitive.
“Malays are not being sensitive. We have tolerated a lot of things.”
In Alor Star, Adib Povera reports that Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Azizan Abdul Razak wants the authorities to punish Wee.
He said Wee or anyone who broke the law, especially for mocking the constitution, should be punished to deter others.
“I also fear that the people might lose faith in the judiciary if the government does not react to Wee’s actions,” he said after chairing the weekly state exco meeting here yesterday.
